Family Friendly Harvest Celebration

Making faces with vegetables

Ten families from our Shred Sunday School came along to our ‘physically distanced’ Harvest Celebration in Upper Slaithwaite on Saturday 31st October. Annis, Helen, Barbara and Susan took great care to organise an event which kept families in their bubbles and provided activities for the younger people to take home and enjoy. We didn’t meet as one huge group, instead, following a brilliant risk assessment, we had separate appointment times for the families to arrive. Overall the event was spaced out over three hours – with families arriving in their bubbles.

The sense of ‘togetherness’ that was achieved by knowing that our friends were sharing in the same activities – have a look at the photographs of the activities from the event:

  2. We really enjoyed coming to Shred. It was good to see everyone, make things, bring our decorated vegetables and throw wellies in the field. Thanks to all for inviting us and making it possible to keep this community going .
