It is interesting to reflect on the almost pointlessness of Sunday Sermons… “I hear / I forget”… and yet if a sermon is even briefly encouraging, then perhaps it has served a purpose. What we really believe influences our actions, and it is by our actions that we are known… “I see / I remember”. There is no faith without action, but action without faith is empty. An interesting way to grow in faith is to actively learn – to put effort into understanding. “I do / I understand”.
Carol has been trying to learn the Benedictus and she hit upon the idea of creating and artist acrostic… an acrostic is where the first letter of each line spells out the idea you are trying to remember…
